solution selection

challenges

Selecting the adequate technologies to fulfil the performance requirements all levels of the organization requires a careful assessment of numerous factors as well as a methodological approach. Often linked to the context of strategy studies, Keyrus' solution selection services have been designed to tackle the following challenges:

  • functional coverage: considering technological solutions from a global perspective is a key success factor. The various functional components required for performance management solutions and the way they will interact in the architecture of the solution should be taken into account.
  • adequacy of choice: an adequate choice is driven by the future usage of the solution and technologies. A clear view of the expectations of the business community as well as a good understanding of the performance requirements cannot be bypassed (for example, by means of a scoping study). Usage is not only driven by business requirements, but also by the organization's readiness and the practical possibilities to integrate the selected technologies into the longer-term requirements of the organization.

Keyrus' answer

Keyrus provides guidance to organizations to make adequate software selections, to cover all functional components of their performance management solutions:

  • structured approach: Keyrus proposes a unique, proven and structured approach for solution selection, based on four key phases:
    • preparation: gain knowledge of all project contextual information and set up the detailed project plan.
    • definition: understand the expectations of the business community, as well as the existing systems and components from a technical point of view. This phase ends with the creation of a scoring model and a short-list of suitable technologies to be evaluated into more detail.
    • evaluation: perform a detailed evaluation of the technological candidates, based on the scoring model. Next to that an in-depth evaluation, a proof-of-concept, may be organized. The phase ends with a selected target performance management environment.
    • planning: decide on how the roll-out of the new technological environment will be performed, including the possible migration of the existing situation towards the new environment.
  • body of knowledge: thanks to a body of knowledge completed continuously in function of our assignments, we are able to propose a set of scoring dimensions classified in four domains (generic market, client specific, financial, vendor) to be used as the structure for the scoring model. All generic market dimensions compare functional areas of the most widely used technologies in the performance management domain and are maintained continuously with up-to-date scores.
  • knowledge of technologies and vendors: thanks to our strong level of partnership and our technology-independent positioning, we are able to quickly identify the best suitable candidates to specific performance management requirements for each customer.
